Ian Studd's career in the removals industry now spans 50 years and takes in many different operational, sales, and managerial roles in different market sectors. Ian has also enjoyed a long involvement with the BAR, serving as a Councillor for the Commercial Moving Group for over 10 years, including a 2 year term in the Chair. He served as a director of the BAR for some 8 years and became the elected President of the association in 2012. Ian has hugely enjoyed this involvement with the national trade association as it allowed him to have involvement and influence in the industry in which he has spent his entire career. It is for these reasons that in 2015 Ian applied to become the next Director General of the B.A.R, and having been appointed to that role, remains extremely enthused to have the opportunity to be even more involved in helping to shape the future of our industry in the UK. Ian’s ambitions for the future are very much focussed on investing in attracting and developing people into the industry, and to promoting a culture of continuous improvements in customer service and service delivery.
