Topps Tiles Commits to Consumer Protection

Topps Tiles, one of the ‘UK's leading tile and flooring retailers’, has registered with the Furniture and Home Improvement Ombudsman (FHIO), underscoring their ongoing dedication to safeguarding consumer rights and promoting fair trade. This affiliation highlights their continued focus on delivering the highest standards of service and accountability within the industry.

The independent, not-for-profit, and government-approved Ombudsman has been providing its members and their customers with valuable services for over three decades. These include independent alternative dispute resolution, training, and expert advice, all aimed at ensuring consumer protection and fair practice. By registering to the Ombudsman scheme, Topps Tiles reinforces its commitment to offering customers an additional layer of security and peace of mind, ensuring that any disputes can be resolved efficiently and fairly without the need for costly litigation.

As a member of the FHIO, Topps Tiles is committed to adhering to a robust Code of Practice that promotes consumer confidence. This move demonstrates the company’s ongoing efforts to maintain industry-leading standards, manage complaints with professionalism, and go beyond the minimum legal requirements. Additionally, the affiliation provides Topps Tiles access to the City & Guilds learning and development programme, which ensures their team is equipped with the latest industry knowledge and skills.

The company will also benefit from the support of a legally trained Ombudsman team, ensuring the highest levels of service and complaint resolution.

Alison Mazzei-Foster, Customer Experience Manager at Topps Tiles, said, "At Topps Tiles, we not only want to offer our customers great service and amazing quality, but we also want to give them reassurance in the investment they are making for their home. Working with the Ombudsman provides an impartial and fair resource for our customers to assure them of our brand quality and commitment to their personal home renovations, something not currently offered by many other tiling retailers."

For consumers, this collaboration means they can rely on the Ombudsman's independent expertise, available at no cost, if complaints cannot be resolved directly with the retailer. This service guarantees that customers have a fair and impartial path to resolving issues, further enhancing trust in Topps Tiles as a leading retailer in the home improvement sector.

Kevin Grix, CEO and Chief Ombudsman at the Furniture and Home Improvement Ombudsman, commented, "We are delighted to welcome Topps Tiles to the Ombudsman. Their commitment is a strong testament to their dedication to consumer protection and raising industry standards. We look forward to working with them to promote fair trade and uphold the rights of their customers."
